Depending on how you interact with Calories Journal, we access and collect the following categories of information:

• Google User Data: When you sign up or sign in using Google Sign-In or Google OAuth, we access basic Google account profile information authorized by you, including your Google Account ID (sub), primary email address, full name, given name, family name, and profile avatar image URL.
• Nutrition & Journal Data: Meal logs, food items, nutritional estimates (calories, protein, carbs, fat), meal photos submitted for macro analysis, body weight logs, target goals (TDEE, BMR, deficit targets), custom foods, and dietary preferences.
• Technical & Usage Information: Diagnostic data, session authentication tokens, IP addresses (for security logging), and device/browser details required to provide secure synchronization across devices.

We use the information we collect strictly to operate, provide, personalize, and improve the App. Specifically:

• Authentication & Account Management: We use your Google profile data (email and Google Account ID) to authenticate your identity, create your user account, maintain your secure active session, and enable seamless login without requiring password setup.
• App Experience Personalization: We use your name and profile picture to display your identity in your personal journal dashboard and settings interface.
• Core Nutrition Tracking: We process your food logs and meal photos to calculate estimated calories and macronutrients, maintain your daily intake totals, and provide progress trends over time.
• Essential Service Communications: We use your email address to send transactional receipts, security alerts, and critical account or policy update notifications.

• No Sale of Google User Data: We do NOT sell, rent, trade, or monetize Google user data or any personal information to data brokers, advertisers, or third parties under any circumstances.
• No Third-Party Advertising: Google user data is never shared with third-party ad networks or used for targeted advertising, retargeting, or cross-site profiling.
• No AI Model Training on Private User Data: Your Google user data, meal logs, and uploaded food photos are NOT used to train generalized artificial intelligence or machine learning models.

We employ robust physical, technical, and administrative safeguards to protect your personal and Google user data:

• Encryption: All data transmitted between your device and our servers is encrypted using standard HTTPS/TLS (Transport Layer Security) protocol. Data stored in our production database is encrypted at rest.
• Data Retention: We retain your personal and Google user data only for as long as your account remains active. If you choose to delete your account, your profile information, session tokens, and all journal data are permanently purged from our primary databases immediately.

You retain full ownership and control over your personal information and Google user data:

• In-App Account Deletion: You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time inside the App by navigating to Settings → Danger zone → Delete Account or by visiting /delete-account.
• Revoking Google Account Permissions: You may inspect or revoke Calories Journal's access to your Google account at any time via your Google Account Permissions Manager.
• Data Requests: To request a copy of your stored data or ask questions regarding your privacy, email us directly at hello.caloriesjournal@gmail.com.

We rely on trusted cloud infrastructure providers strictly to operate the App (e.g., hosting servers, database management, and cloud infrastructure). These service providers are bound by strict data processing agreements and are prohibited from using your data for any independent purpose.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our app features or regulatory requirements. If we make material changes to how we access, collect, use, store, or share Google user data:

• We will post a prominent in-product notification banner inside the App interface.
• We will update the "Effective Date" at the top of this Privacy Policy.
• Where appropriate, we will notify registered users via their primary registered email address before the changes take effect.
